RESULTS OF THE SMALL GRANTS COMPETITIONS UNDER THE GRANT PROGRAM FOR THE MOUNTAINS OF CENTRAL ASIA BIODIVERSITY HOTSPOT IN KAZAKHSTAN, KYRGYZSTAN AND TAJIKISTAN

RESULTS OF THE SMALL GRANTS COMPETITIONS UNDER THE GRANT PROGRAM FOR THE MOUNTAINS OF CENTRAL ASIA BIODIVERSITY HOTSPOT IN KAZAKHSTAN, KYRGYZSTAN AND TAJIKISTAN

Total number of applications received: 37.
The following projects were selected by the Selection Committee based on the results of the expert selection:

Kazakhstan:

1. Public fund «Wildlife Without Borders»

Project: «Ensuring the sustainable existence of two globally significant snow leopard populations through the development of a set of environmental measures aimed at maintaining the ecological connectivity of landscapes»

2. Public fund «Zhassyl azyk»

Project:  «Integrated pasture management of Kaskasuy rural district of Tolebi district of Turkestan region to reduce threats to the biodiversity of the Sairam-Ugam State National Natural Park»

3. Public association «Ugam»

Project: «Introduction of «green technologies» in the development of EcoAgroTourism in order to preserve the biodiversity of the Tolebi territory of the Western Tien Shan»

 

Kyrgyzstan:

1. Kyrgyz Wildlife Conservation Society

Project:  «Restaurant» for scavenging birds in the KBA Western Issyk-Kul – as a foundation for the conservation of birds and the involvement of local communities in their protection»

2. Union of pasture users of Ak-Dobe village district

Project:  «Pasture users of Ak-Dobo learn from the nature»

3. Public fund «Issyk-Kul clean»

Project:  «Save Issyk-Kul from fish nets»

 

Tajikistan:

1. Public organization “Ganji Tabiat”

Project: «Conservation of threatened wild fruit tree species in South Tajikistan via establishing micro-nurseries and growing trees»

2. Youth Environmental Center

Project:  «Involvement of nature users and communities in reducing the burden on the Khojamumin KBA in Tajikistan»

3. Public association «Kuhhoi Pomir»

Project: «Measures for the protection and reproduction of the rarest wild relict endemic pear species Pyrus cajon for its effective use»
